Right. Welcome guys.
Another session with Maya and Alan, myself.
And then we're adding to our podcast.
What topic are we talking about today, Maya?
So to do, we are talking about.
Personal growth, OK.
So what does it mean to you when it comes to personal growth? Yeah.
I think personal growth generally means like continuous improvement in one's abilities and mindset as a whole.
Yeah, sure. Because special growth is quite diverse, right?
Because there's so many areas that you can potentially focus on, because if you're saying personal growth, it can be, oh, is it my about my life in celebration that maybe an area of personal growth?
Is it around the area of finances right where I need to earn a bit of money or is it active income or passive income through investments or working or business?
Or is it? You know, my emotional and meaning right?
Maybe a personal growth, right?
Because you know, and health right is a general one.
So yeah, I think when it comes to personal growth, we need to understand what are the categories, right.
And the best way to achieve growth is.
Probably first to understand and assess where you're at, right.
And what I mean by that is I think it's a simple question.
I know I'm jumping right into. It is more just assessing like on a scale of zero to 10. Where do you sit in that particular area, right?
So let's say if it's in the area of finance, right?
So what sort of score would you score yourself?
Is it a 5?
Is it A8?
Is it a 10 or is it a one right?
Once you know where you're at, then you can kinda look at ways to what we're fore closing the gap.
So let's say in the area of finance I'm sitting at A5, you know, always ask that question. If you were to take it to a six or seven, what are the things that you need to add to take it to that level?
So it's closing the gap, so maybe look, I really need to sit down and have a clear budget. Great. OK.
What else?
And we kind of ask those questions and and then hopefully like we're brainstorming with us with yourself, right?
Or your coach.
Or your mentor. You can really finalize. Hey, what's the gap?
In, in getting towards you know seven and sometimes you may be fantastic at a level of 10, but you know perfect question that I always ask if A10 was reset at a six or seven, what would you need to do to take it to an 8 and?
Nine, right. So I feel often we go, hey, I'm not happy with this.
Well, are you clear exactly where you're at?
Where you want to go and then this gap process, you know I'm giving you the mechanics straight away, which is strategy, but it's never about the strategy.
About probably the mindset in achieving that.
I know you have a lot of questions, but that's probably a taste, right?
Because yeah, I believe. Anyway, my personal opinion that growth is equal to happiness, right?
The more you grow right, the happier you can potentially be.
And sometimes, like it could be addictive, right?
You know, so if you keep keep growing and.
We all do grow right in nature and look at plants, animals like we either grow or we die, right?
So they're the two ultimate outcomes.
So Maya is any other questions you would like to ask? Mm hmm.
For use what type of or what event has set your personal growth the most?
What event has enabled your personal growth the most?
I mean my mentor, right?
So Tony like.
Robbins, I kind of followed him since a young age, but I feel the the most growth was there in 2017, so that's probably almost seven years ago.
Well, firstly, to commit a program such as that is.
Enormous. I don't know what the price is, but it's definitely 6 figures, right?
And I I think I made a commitment in 2016 attending one of these seminar.
I remember clearly it was in Fiji saying that Yep, we're going to do it.
I didn't know how, but I said, yeah, this is something that me and my wife want to commit to and what I love about working with my wife is that we're always playing things and commit to stuff like and. And, you know, sometimes in life you need to.
Commit to something that it's beyond your comfort zone, and at that time it was.
Pretty much beyond my comfort zone now.
Not that we didn't have the money. We need to sell one of our properties or investment properties in order to achieve it.
So I mean, we were looking at a few 100,000 because it doesn't include the flies accommodation.
So from a monetary perspective, is already a bit stretch, right?
But at that time, when I said, hey, you know, if you commit to it, you find a way, right, is it possible?
Well, we didn't have the money. It's impossible.
You probably had to borrow some money.
Now we already decided we were going to sell that property, but if I didn't sell the property now.
But it's the best investment that I've ever committed.
And you're saying personal growth, so personal growth, not just a finance perspective because it was a bit stretch, but from an emotional and meaning perspective, what does it mean?
So that time I was just starting my business or probably like five years into my business.
So it's have foundations, but is it solid on the foundation? So the program that we attended is called the Platinum Partnerships, right?
So there was a joke at that time in business.
Then do we you know Excel right?
Because you kind of need to look at leadership management skills, right?
Or does your business take a plat dive right? So as much as go into a plat program right?
You know, it's taking a bit of a dive because you don't have the system and processes in place and in fact that gave me a good learning in for those like that are in business or my career is that I really need to understand how to manage.
A team or automate some processes because I'm no longer the artist. Why I'm travelling around right?
I can not see the client.
I can still see certain times and back then that's before like your teams and your zoom and so forth.
So it was really relying on the team locally to kind of facilitate the help for some of my clients.
So that's from a career perspective, need to shift in terms of my set and then Healthwise of course you need to be healthy and and travelling right, you know these different places.
So we were in United States, probably like every few months.
So I remember we started in December 2016.
With one of these programs that we destiny and then January came back to you.
Australia and back to Florida then for one of the business mastery, and I think February was Canada. March was la, April was X and then continue all the way to October of 2017.
What profoundly like in that particular time was also on relationship. So me and my wife were spending time together, but little did really realise that. No, we did have our first child.
But it's more around how to connect with each other, so there's a few assumptions right?
Whether it's understanding each other, we were married probably six years at that time, so still discovering like us as a couple, you know what? What's important to us, what's not important?
How can we improve individually like as a as a individual in this couple relationship to add value rather than hey seen this as a you know our conditional love right?
I do this and then you do that.
So yeah, heaps of things that from that experience had to really grow, right.
So, but I think it started with identify.
Hey, I committed.
That's my objective and also another important thing if for those that are listening is really understanding your why in doing things right, why is it that you need to have a better relationship?
Why is it that you need to have first personal growth if there's not enough reason for you to change, why would you do that?
Why would you self improve, right?
I'm pretty sure the listeners out there like do you want a personal growth is because?
You're a person that's a high achiever.
They wanna not just do things for yourself, but you wanna add back, right?
So give back, right?
So that's probably a reason why you're you're wanting that personal growth.
So I don't know if I answer that question, but yeah, that event in 2017 really like you know, gave me all the tools and the skill set and the mindset and really have to deal with what I need to deal with at that time.
So.
Want to have contributed the most in your personal growth? I think now like I've mature more as a business owner like in different areas, right?
So I say like to my 2 girls, right, I use that.
Have you made your bed right?
I know it sounds as simple as it sounds like that would make my bed right.
Unless my wife sleeping in it and I can't make the bed today, right?
So it's more. The other one is having a cold shower, right?
So why?
Is that important?
Yes, even when it's winter is having a cold shower.
So the reason for that is to condition my my mindset.
That, hey, if you can do something as simple as that, you can do anything, right?
So yes, it's hard because there's you get lazy and you don't wanna do it. It's cold, right?
But it's 10 seconds of discipline.
But really, like harnesses like my my brain and start the day.
Hey, we've done something really successful.
That's a good start if you can tackle this, you can tackle anything and I don't think any problem is as big as. Maybe that's what's in our head.
So therefore, we really need to break it down or or reflect, right?
So yeah, simple as making a bed while you make it tidy.
Hey, I think that as a success already, but consistently doing that, right? I talked about the gym scenario, right? For those that have heard our podcast, is it going to the gym or, you know over the weekend and and 24 hours, 3 days straight and you'll get?
Like muscles like Arnold and the answer is probably no.
You need to consistently focus on different areas or different muscle groups repetitively. Like you know, yes, you have to push yourself or know where you're at because you can't just go hey, go.
Weighs and Egypt yourself, so it's really consistently like doing those right every single time in the area of finance.
Are we having a budget that will review consistently?
You may put your hand up for those audits out there, right?
You may.
Yes, I have a budget. That's great.
You have that tool, but have you reviewed it in the last month or is it last year or last 10 years that you reviewed it?
So yes, you do have a budget, but have you constantly looked at it to see where you're at?
Are you having a drink because it's negative or you're having a drink?
Because it's positive, who knows, right?
I feel the key thing in personal growth.
Know where you're at? Are you measuring consistently? If it's not, what is it that you need to do to get back on course?
Is that answer your question? So like.
Less motivated. So how do you motivate yourself and pursue the personal growth?
Yeah, sure.
And I think I highlighted some in this.
Yeah, in podcast or the video chat is that you need to know your why, right?
And you need to speak louder, by the way, so they can hear you right.
So yeah, why?
So you need to have for those that watch the reels in in our channel. It's like a table, right?
Wise like your legs on the table.
So if you have just one Y like business usually hey, I want to make money. Great, like we all need to be profitable.
But that's not the only reason that you starting a business. And if that's it, is very wobbly in terms of a a table.
Now is there otherwise of course.
Right. Providing for the family, right?
Creating a passive income, right? If you write and really get clear on your why that is going to be the motive like there are times like in business.
Why did I start this business like it's not.
Why is it that you start this business? Is what value can you bring to yourself and and other people and the rest of the community?
That's really the answer.
And we can really articulate that well, right reasons come first the how is the second.
People always get it wrong, like into the oh, I need to have the strategy like losing weight.
There's millions of strategies like, not millions, right? If you would be real, probably like 10 to 20, we were to name them.
But it's never about the strategy.
It's about wiser that you need to lose weight when you get absolutely clear, and they're the reasons, like whether it's for health, whether it's for appearance, whether it's for strength, whether it's for energy.
Right. And you're clear then. That's what's gonna move it forward into the motivation and motivate.
You need to understand it's it's yourself, right?
The the the environments, yeah, can play a part, but it's not the one that motivates you.
But sometimes there's enough pain that the environment doesn't support you that you change anyway, right?
So that's why you know, I believe motive or reasons comes first and then a. How is it can OK.
Like, since we have already discussed about the mindset and also what kind of role does this mindset play in personal growth?
Yeah, mindset is.
Painting the picture. There's two things that I I talk about the levers in doing something right. You might have your Y.
And then I've got 10 of them.
I written it all down right now. Again, do we review it?
Do we get it so emotionally attached in your body that you know what?
What is the meaning right?
Yeah. So I I feel it's important to to understand.
Yes, mindset is driving your pain and your pleasure in doing something.
So I talk about the pleasure may only get you so far.
Oh, you get more money?
That's fantastic.
What are you gonna do with the money? OK.
What are you gonna experience with that money?
So it's not like just buying a car by buying a car is just the the thing that you do. But the real feeling you're getting is probably, oh, I own a car, so I have freedom to go to places that I want, right?
I don't need to catch public transport right and take ages to get there. There's different reasons.
So that's kind of the benefit, but the benefit can get you so, so far.
In the areas of finance, I will talk about what's the cost in not doing.
The the The what's the pain of regret?
There's only two things, right.
So yeah, what's the regret in not doing?
What's the cost in not doing that budget?
What's the cost in not having a good relationship?
What's the cost in not working on yourself to add value in that relationship?
That's something need to be thought about.
So therefore the mindset you can write heaps of YS, but there could be some patterns that are limiting for your massive action.
Because action is a cure all.
But why do we not do it?
You're right.
You don't have enough motive. Maybe.
Or the reasons why?
Or you haven't sold yourself into the mindset perspective. What are the benefits and what's the cost in not doing right? If you paint that enough?
Yes, like if I was to put put a gun.
Not that we're doing that now.
Why? Like, hey, what's the cost if you don't do this, right?
You know, there could be a risk like something happened to you or your family. Would you do it instantly?
You know it'll like.
Yeah, right. In a heartbeat, right?
Because there's so much cost and pain in not doing that.
So therefore, I'm not saying hey, promoting violence or anything but violence been used in a lot time, why do people?
Get motivated because it not doing there. There's conflicts, right?
So you need to paint that for yourself. If it's for the greater good, right?
Or the things that you're trying to do is that help?
Yeah. So can you describe a major challenge or set back that you have first and how you overcome it?
Well, there's a lot of challenges. I think every day there's learnings and wins. There's challenge that arise in life.
I think one of the biggest challenge I shared before was losing a lot of money when I was young, so my parents grew up with not.
Like a rich background, you may think, oh, you're just Asian. You migrate it, you must have a lot of money.
The right answer.
Is this the exact opposite? Right? My parents didn't have much money, but what it taught me is to become resourceful.
But when I, you know, studied and finished and I was working in the bank, I I finally like, you know, fortunate enough. Like I'm very blessed that my parents had passed on the property but able to leverage that. So. So taking a loan out and decided to invest.
I think it was shares or in particular not just shares. Is a very leveraged.
Instrument. Yeah, investing in options, right?
So options. But Long story short, I invested in that particular vehicle.
Not really understanding the risk behind it.
So in one night I lost over 100,000. Back when I was young.
So yeah, I could go for the details, but you know, given the time so it was just one night at a share need to close Aus share a certain price, but it didn't close above it close under.
So the whole portfolio got wiped out and that was 100,000 austral.
So equivalent, probably now maybe 1/4 of a million right, 250,000. So at that time, what do you focus on like you feel like? Oh, like, what the heck, right?
Like, disappointed, angry at yourself, right?
You know, there's a lot of emotions.
That's that's a focus on it now, looking back now, of course, you know, it was the biggest catalyst or biggest learning that ever had in my life, right?
Because what you're going to make it mean, right?
You're going to be victim about it and that's it, right?
You know, or there's even like.
Bad focus. That wasn't empowering for me, right?
So because the driver was like my parents always argue about money, so why does well, like invest? I'm doing the right thing, but I lost the money.
Why? Why should I be like, you know?
Scanner for it, right?
I wasn't scouted like my parents were very supportive, but more scattered at myself, right?
I was disappointed at myself losing that large sum of money, but then I had to assess like, what do I choose like, you know, do I choose to be the victim and that's it.
I'm not going to work or I need to do look at other ways and continue to work on myself investing in solo.
And yeah, I still have a bit of equity or redraw at that time.
So I did invest in a property, true story, a Melbourne property and St. Kilda E to be exact.
Remember that day bringing my one of my best mate and say hey, should I really buy that property?
So obviously I invested in a property and that grew and also my business ventures and now like rest is history.
So then I really learned what?
Is options me right and the risk that's associated.
So yeah, that was the biggest challenge to overcome.
But no doubt in business and areas in relationship and and other things we all face with challenges.
But I guess one tool that I use.
From Tony as well is not see it as worse than it is, right?
See it as it is, but don't see it.
Also better than it is, right?
Because sometimes, like we may go. Hey, you know, there's a garden.
He always talks about this story that, hey, there's no weeds, there's no weeds, there's no weeds in the garden.
But you need to really look at it and say, hey, there are weeds and I'm going to do something about it.
I'm going to pull it out.
So it's being conscious of that.
Because we may ping paint a very rosy picture when it's not.
Or a worser picture.
See it as it is.
Hey, a loss.
You know how 1/4 of $1,000,000 at that time.
Yeah, I can cry about it, but that's not gonna help me.
The money's not gonna redisappear. Then you need to learn how you who you gonna be, how you gonna, like, get that money back and be responsible, right?
So at that early age, I was taught the idea. What is responsibility from a financial perspective? Yeah.
So why do you face that challenges? You might have come across with self doubt and fear.
So how did you manage to overcome all those?
Yeah. So fear and doubt. Procrastination, anxiety. They're all emotions within us.
It's easy to to say, right?
But if you focus on it and you keep focusing on it right, it will get worse, right?
So if you were to look at yourself, how you really sit when you're really worried and disappointed, are you gonna be like, hey, I'm really chirpy and I'm smiling.
No, right?
The answer is your Physiology is going to be very different.
You're going to look down.
Are you breathing like deeply or shallowly, right?
Probably a bit shallow, right?
You know, you're breathing like fast or slow.
You're probably breathing very fast, right?
Not slow, because if you're calm and collected, you're going to be taking more deep breaths.
So it's the exact opposite.
And that's why, you know, over different cultures and then people that we observe they.
Yeah, that's the perfect recipe.
Or sometimes like, hey, you know when you're looking at a sports game, right when.
Their Physiology like, I mean, they were almost finals week and you can see some of the players like, you know, they're not gonna score that goal because you know, you sense that Physiology is not at the right pattern versus someone.
Hey, you know, playing soccer and he's really confident, he's very focused.
He's certain, right?
He's kicking the goal and the goalie doesn't know where he's kicking, right?
You know he's going to score. So therefore I feel like when you're in that feeble anxiety, doubtful moment, right?
One is to recognize that you're there.
Second, you need to be do a really big change in your in your Physiology like so whether it's like, sometimes you know when you're really upset, you go for Ryan, or you change and you come back. It could be a glass of water.
You probably focus a bit differently, right?
And the answer is this because you moved you, you didn't stay in that state, right?
So therefore, that's one changing your Physiology, but also what's the language and focus.
And lastly, you need to see the cost in, not, not.
Like in sticking to that position or state and then what the benefits in actually going towards that so coverage is something that you maybe feeful but you do it effort you do it anyway, right?
We got to be courageous in somehow, right?
Whether it's a, you know, taking our first loan or getting your first house right, the first loss right of a quarter, $1,000,000, right, the first key. So, so the first you know like.
Studies right to UNI or master's or or school, right?
There's always a first, right?
We all been there.
That hey from a primary school, you go to high school. It's the first time.
And then and in the first moment, if you focused on, of course, it's scary.
But once you made a few friends, you understand how the process works, right?
You adapt to it right?
So therefore, you gotta be courageous, right?
You just need to ask.
So therefore, emotions is all within me within us.
But we need to choose the array if you're staying there for a long time, you'll spiral right and you'll focus on, well, probably not.
Empowering feeling. But it's recognizing it.
Break the pattern you know, looking, doing something that's a bit different.
Does that help? Yeah.
Coming here, this is all growth.
Yeah. So.
Well, I shared with you today. Personal growth was really purchasing a property.
Sometimes it wasn't for myself.
Like so, purchase like display home. But thank you for my friends and deep friends and supporters that actually made that happen because it's definitely not easy and it's a bit of a stretch. But you know, family and friends that really made it happen. And this particular purchase was.
Not so much for myself, is.
Because there's a granny flat involved is more for my parents and you know the long term vision to be close with the family, right?
I mean, yes, they're independent.
They're they're they can look after themselves, but you know later on. Who knows, right?
So life provides a, you know, a few challenges or uncertainty.
So we're embracing that.
So that's been kind of a stretch, right?
Because my finances is not easy and to get access to that funding is probably like a biggest triumph ever, right?
But my personal growth also is I'm at that stage in a business. I'm not saying hey, it's good or bad, I'm OK. But I want to leave that legacy part.
So why are we doing this podcast?
It's because we want to give something back with like it's. I wish like when I was young I had these sort of podcasts and shortcuts to listen to, to really maximize my personal growth, right.
I didn't have many teachers.
My father was always working when I was young.
Lied to.
I'm not someone that really likes that.
Pick up a book and read right?
I mean, I do read, don't get me wrong, but it's not like, where do you find your mentors, right?
So all your coaches.
So I went to seminar and friends and like minded people that want to achieve certain things and I've learned this personal growth journey right.
But I feel setting up a company which you're aware of and you're helping me doing that.
So it's more like.
Really want to give back to the different countries that deserve.
They Got Talent and skill set the people, but we want.
You know, employees or businesses that wanna take on that staff and and nurture that. I know there's talks about AI and AI is like the threat or you know is it an opportunity or is it a threat?
I mean, that's the emotional meaning that we need to attach to it.
But I feel there's this definitely big opportunities for us to expand and raise the standard and add value to the general public.
So like, how do you sit and track your progress towards your personal growth?
Well, I think.
I'm not sure if you do it yourself like.
I.
I.
I mean, I capture it somewhere.
I'm not saying where you should capture it because everyone's different, but if you do capture it to review it right?
Just like all setting like don't be the ones that hey, news Eve and news days happens.
I'm setting these goals.
I'm gonna do this right.
And then you don't review it until the next New Year's Eve, right?
So therefore, have you been constantly?
Is it monthly or weekly right?
You written it down.
What are you breaking it down? And what are you doing towards this attainment?
Is massive action in whatever that we do. Why don't we do it? Like you said, it's a mindset is a motivation, right?
So that needs to be the foundation.
Needs to be strong so moves things, so it's not that.
Hey, Alan's got any more hours in a day Alan's better or more like, you know, I feel that I'm resourceful.
That's, you know, value to have, but I don't get extra time.
We all get 24 hours in a day, right?
But how you use the time is very important.
So that's why the mindset right.
And that thinking right, it needs to be.
Better. OK.
How often do you review your works or progress?
Well, I think it's whatever's needed to progress, right?
Yeah. So if you don't review it, if it's once a year, it's not enough, right?
You know, I know I have businesses and kind of my insurance policies like reviewing it at least once a month because just think about like your flying a plane from here to Nepal, right?
And you're using autopilot, right?
And your time is there.
I don't know how long does it take to fly to Nepal.
13 hours or 12 hours.
Or more.
How many hours, right?
I mean, do you have to stop somewhere before you?
Is there a direct flight you have to stop somewhere?
Yeah, OK, let's say.
Do you stop at Singapore?
Is it usual place or whereabouts?
Do you stop?
Yeah, nothing.
I did a stop in Malaysia.
Malaysia. OK, so Malaysia to napole?
How many hours?
Roughly don't have to be.
6767 hours. OK, let's let's do 7 hours. Yeah, right.
So I mean, I don't know if you know in the plane it is the autopilot setting, right?
It it it kinda like looks at hey, when the poll is from Malaysia, right where you're flying from and they kind of adjust itself like probably every minute or 30 seconds or so, right. To make sure that we're heading in the right direction.
So therefore, because it corrects itself every so often.
You end up in Nepal, right?
So it's not like, hey, they fly in One Direction and it could be right. Could be wrong from Malaysia. But you know they correct it after seven hours that hey, you end up in Japan, right?
Or another country.
And the answer's no, because if you correct it like not so often, that's why people don't achieve it.
Or they're scared. Like you said, they're somewhere motion.
There's a fear.
There's anxiety not achieving it right.
Some internal conflict, right?
They don't want to look at themselves.
Hey, I don't wanna feel bad.
I'm not gonna achieve it anyway.
Well, yeah.
Have you measured yourself every like week, right?
If that's what you wanna do, so therefore you gotta break it down, right?
So I talked about my finances in my business and minimum is once a month, right?
If you're just measuring it and looking at your financials right once a year, how how well are you gonna score?
And even if there's a problem, like how well and flexible you're gonna move there, some businesses may be measuring every week if not every day.
Right. I mean they're multi million maybe billion dollar like companies, I sure. But I feel like the more you that you measure with intention, right?
You can adjust.
Am I on the right track?
And I'm not on that right track.
Alright, so does that help?
Yeah. So what advice would you like to give to someone or even our listeners or whoever listening who feels stuck in their personal journey?
Well stuck, I mean in relation to what?
Like you need to probably sit down by yourself because it's personal, right?
Don't. Don't go. Oh, OK. I'm doing it when the kids and distraction right.
I have that perfect analogy.
And you're flying and talking about planes before you fly off.
What does the air Hostess say?
Right. You know the mask will come from the top.
You always need to look after yourself once you looked after yourself, you can help others and this is one thing that you need to understand. Personal growth is yourself, right?
Sitting down and another tip, that kind of like, you know, I need to do more of right. But I do practice this called think time.
How often do we sit down and think and have a pad and just write down what you really want to do?
Like I love it when I'm in the plane and there's no reception.
I know there is the distraction into the movie.
The reason why I love it is because there's no Internet connection. If you choose not connect right.
Then I can really reflect on the goals and what is it that I really wanna achieve, because there's no distraction and the kids are like doing their own thing, right?
I'm just there, really reflecting on my goals, right? Have I?
How have I come across right?
So have I achieved what I wanted?
If not, do I adjust it? The reason why we get a phrase because oh, we set a big goal and you don't achieve it, you lose the momentum like. But in life everything is about like smaller goals that you set, right?
Could be really goals.
It could be daily goals.
As simple as what I just said.
Like having a cold shower or making a bed.
So therefore I know that's a bit more personal on a achievement perspective that I have for myself.
What is it to you that you have every single day that you achieve?
Maybe a question for yourself, right?
What's one thing that you do consistently right, I mean, let's.
I mean you you mentioned you talk about health.
What is it that you do consistently? If it's every day or every week to make sure that you attain health, what would that be?
Stretching every morning.
Then I'll do your work or whatever.
Great. Yeah, I'm avoiding the junk foods and the cold drink as far as possible.
Sure, as fast as possible.
But you know you won't have that edge of your daily habit that you drink a soft drink every day or having like junk food every day. You do have it sometimes, but you know, let me ask you like, and same as what I ask myself, why is it?
That you don't. You stay away from junk food or sodas or.
Cokes, right or?
Soft drinks like why is that?
OK.
Bye. Yeah.
So you smile when you're saying that so you associate a lot of the pleasure in achieving your goal.
But let me ask you, have you thought about the cost in not doing like you know the cost in having that soft drink everyday or having that, you know junk food every day, what's the cost?
Yeah, it does a lot like it it in a long time. You can ruin my help and my relationship as well and my financial health as well. Like it gonna read every part of my health, every aspect of my life.
So it's better to like avoid them from from the knowledge stays not to degrade later on.
Sure. I mean, it sounds like you know there's a cost in not doing that, right?
You know, some people may add in, like, I'll be sick for I'll have an illness. And in fact, if I get an illness, it'll cost me more like.
So that's why that's the pain of like, you know, you need to have the pain of discipline to avoid that.
Compared to the pain of regret right in not doing so, these are the motivators that I use on a daily basis.
What's the cost in not doing that right?
It will be like, oh, I'm gonna be ill.
I'm gonna spend more time like with the doctors. I'm gonna pay for more for medication, right?
Whereas if you eat healthy every day and you're checking on your health like you may need not need to worry about that, right?
So I mean, whether it's real or not, it's up to you.
But you know, these are the things that that helps right from a health perspective. But definitely you can do that in a business perspective or career perspective.
Or finances emotional meaning and so forth.
OK. Is there any others?
I mean, there's a lot of teachers.
I'm not saying Tony's always the one right, but I I feel I'm watching a a few other like Simon Sinek is also good, right?
Gary Vee, right.
There's different people that, you know, mention things that I I take it into, you know, consideration.
But I feel the key thing Bruce Lee's also another mentor and teacher.
It's more nowadays.
It's not even the Knowledge acquisition. I feel we can acquire.
Vin is also another good participate in his communication course.
It's really fantastic.
I'm implementing so instead of the Knowledge acquisition he talks about, which is everywhere.
Tiktok nowadays is not more about knowledge application or implementation.
So how well do we implement the stuff that we just spoke about?
Right. So it's great.
Oh, Bing time, right?
Are we doing it?
Are we doing it consistently OK or having culture like that's for me doesn't mean it's for you. What is it?
This link to right refrain from you know junk food or, you know, eating things a bit more healthy consistently every single day.
Yeah. I feel like sometimes when we go out there like we want to change everything changes a lot.
Like it's a good thing, right?
If you see it as a positive like, it may be a bit nervous to some people, so therefore I feel like, hey, if you're a old pattern, right, what things can you add in there at the moment?
To like for example, in the area of health like it doesn't have to be just to be taking, adding in supplements, adding in this right, adding in that, but therefore it's not removing because your brain's like, Oh my God, I'm removing it, right?
I I feel like the prize, right?
You're not doing that right because sometimes if you have a radical changes, they're gonna be sustainable.
So therefore you add certain things and becomes more sustainable. That's why I break it down.
So why is the bed?
It's the easiest thing you can achieve.
Or for some people waking up.
Wake up breathing healthy, right?
Grateful right to be alive, right?
Those sort of things.
So yeah, what else do you have?
So how do you prioritize your mental and emotional health while working there on your personal?
Yeah. So I feel, you know, we talked about the calendar. You really need to map.
No doubt some may be having families. Some are single, some are in relationships, some are studying.
Who knows?
But we all have 24 hours in a day, right?
I'm not saying you got sleep. You got to prioritize that. But you know the other areas.
If it's a weekend, what are you adding then?
What's important to you first, right?
So you know, you said mental health like, are you catching up with your friends, right.
Because we're social beings, right?
We're not like I know we're communicating through.
Teams and then podcasts.
But you know, we feel probably more alive, maybe meeting that person we before.
Like when we're young, like we go to parties.
I'm not saying, hey, hey, we need to interact with people.
That's probably #1, right?
Are you prioritizing that?
Is that locked in your calendar?
Secondly, if it's not mental, health is the physical health like what are you doing? Like you put in there?
Is it exercising?
Is it something towards your help? Like if I'm not doing weights right, I make sure I commit to a minimum right 10,000 steps.
Right, yeah.
So that's my commitment.
Non negotiable, yeah.
So you know, on a so therefore like every day you'll do that.
Now there are some guys that miss it. Like I get upset, of course. Because you know, what's the cost in it doing?
But as always, it's not paid less than 10,000 every single day. Then I'm aware because you're you're towards the attainment of health, right?
So same thing like you're not gonna beat yourself over the head if you have one. Like junk food a day, right?
But because if you do that, you're probably depriving yourself on some like having chocolate or something. Like. It's cool, right?
You know you're not one day of chocolate doesn't mean, but if you binge your chocolate and every single day.
And the quantity then is questionable in terms of your help. True. Yeah. So how?
Bad. And what's the best way to turn turn it into personal growth?
Oh, so you. I mean feedback in terms of what?
So can I clarify like like in your business, maybe you might have got.
Feedbacks and criticism from your clients or your from your support workers.
So how do you handle them?
And yeah, what is the best way to turn it into personal growth?
Good, I'm glad you asked.
I'm just fortunate enough to meet one of the leaders, right. We may all know of Bill Clinton, who was AUS president.
Real life in person, so I mentioned one key fact is that taking feedback seriously, but not personally, right?
We often feel, and I had at times before, that teaching that.
Oh, you know, why isn't that they provide feedback, but I did my best.
They're tacking me right.
So that's around the area of emotional and meaning. I'm still working on it.
I got better at that, right?
Because nowadays I'm not sure different people, different generation maybe.
Very short tempered like even like, they just make it mean.
Oh my God, I just cut the lane over car, right?
I'm gonna kill him or something, right?
So that's how short tempered people are these days, right?
Let alone feedback.
I mean, feedback is probably the end of the world.
How dare they provide feedback?
But if you don't allow that as a business and clients, how do you know that you're doing well just like that auto like pilot example like you may be off track, right and the feedback and and and and that is not to say how crap or how good.
Your business is.
It's just a redirection of what you need to do right.
If it's a lot of feedback.
Feedback rol.
How can you get more if it's a bad feedback, how do you get more with feedback, right?
So again, it's seeing where you're at and then directing into the right course. But if you make it mean attacking me, who's he to say?
Right. Some sort of like a story or judgment or emotional meaning attached to it. You'll never receive that feedback. And in fact, the clients don't want to give feedback.
Have you been to a business or or a restaurant is so **** right like that? You even don't even wanna go in there.
Like because they never taken on feedback, they think their food or or service the best in the world. OK, that's on the verge of bankruptcy. Make sense?
So why am I sharing that?
Because there's actually, I came back from a conference recently.
And in fact, some businesses need to learn to adapt.
Why am I saying that?
Because these are some of the brands that we may associate with that are no longer around, for example.
You know, I'm not sure your age, but have you heard of VHS as well?
Like you know, videotape.
Like I said, tape that which watch videos, right?
So there's a company called Block Blockbuster, right?
Very big, right?
And they were very like not into feedback, right, that the trend is changing.
And Netflix offered to buy them out.
I couldn't remember when and and what price, but there was that conversation and Blockbuster said, hey, I've got so many stores at that time, I really don't want to acquire you guys, right?
You battled it and rested his, his history.
Why? Because Netflix is one of the most utilized right streaming services.
Streaming services right now.
Another like, not that big, bankrupt or anything like a a company called Nokia, right?
We all know back then you probably have phones I had right the snake and so forth. Not promoting the brand, but they were into like getting their phones better. Whether smaller, better, right.
More efficient typing, right?
So they were into that improvement space, but little did they know that the trans the consumer pattern.
Is changing like we kind of joked at that time.
Like never, there will be a touch screen.
Right. And there's touch screen now, right?
Apple and the other brands.
So another one is BlackBerry similar, right?
So it's a business phone that was very prominent in probably like before the 2000 and fives, right, you know around that 2000s, they're no longer around.
So therefore, if you're so caught up in terms of their feedback not receiving it or like who's people to provide the feedback, you're really not listening to potential, you know.
Changes in your business that could either make you or destroy you.
Just like your personal now, you might go. Hey, there's so much feedback and so forth.
Yeah, it's up to you what you do with that feedback, right?
Yes, it's good to be aware of.
But again, what are you gonna make of me?
Is that gonna empower you?
Disempower you, right?
That's what you need to choose. OK, yeah.
For today's session to our listeners.
Yeah. I think personal growth again needs something to do with yourself.
So it's really set something a time aside to really reflect, because we often get distracted, right?
So whether it's the family, whether it's work and so forth, right.
Go into our environment that you like going in, whether it's a park or quiet place or the library, and just have a pen and paper and just write down and capture.
Could be on your computer, wherever it is, and then.
Yeah. Once you have that and idswr like, what is it that you wanna do?
What is it you don't, right?
And then and then map it out right?
Is it a big one?
Is a long term goal. Is a short term goal right?
You know, once you start to be honest there like you gotta so many things.
Like maybe?
Hey, the garden that I always wanted to plant, right?
This is what it's gonna be.
And these are the plans, right?
And you break it down.
So we won't go through this session like. I mean, I'm using one of Tony's tools like and I've been coached as well, right?
So he's talking about RPM, so.
Results purpose and massive action.
Right, so you need to have those in each project because easy to say how I wanna do this. But why do you not do it?
Well, we talked about purpose and you don't have your why you have one. Why? I wanna make more money in business.
Well, is that really stable?
Yes. No.
And then massive action.
What a massive action.
Steps to take it towards its attainment, but I love this area like I love being on a plane and and no distractions and reflect on myself and and and I done that like recently.
You know, it was really fruitful, right?
Because nowadays we tend to like I said, not even knowledge acquisition.
Like maybe photo and documentation.
That you're on your phone.
Do you even cleanse out your phone? Right, as in terms of documents, I love doing those sort of things like in the plane. And that's like when I fly to like some Asian country or six hours, 8 hours, right. I have no interruptions and working on myself and.
That's been the biggest blessing in my life because I continue to do it right and I'm not going to stop.
So hopefully that answers the question and for you listeners out there and continue listening to our next episodes and and stay tuned, OK.
All right.
Bye for now.
