Wins and Learnings
FROM THE MENTEE'S
"is a framework used to reflect on a specific period (like a week, a project, or a quarter). It shifts the focus away from "success vs. failure" and instead focuses on "achievement vs. growth."
1. Wins (The Achievements)
Wins are the tangible or intangible successes you experienced. They represent progress and give you an opportunity to celebrate what is working.
-
Direct Results: Meeting a deadline, hitting a sales target, or finishing a complex task.
-
Positive Feedback: Getting a "great job" from a client or colleague.
-
Small Victories: Mastering a new software shortcut or finally organizing a messy inbox.
-
The Goal: Recognizing wins builds momentum and reinforces high-performance habits.
2. Learnings (The Growth)
Learnings are the insights gained from challenges, mistakes, or even unexpected outcomes. Instead of labeling something as a "loss," you treat it as data for improvement.
-
Pivot Points: Realizing a certain strategy didn't work and identifying why.
-
New Skills: Understanding a technical process better after struggling with it.
-
Self-Awareness: Noticing that you work better in the morning or that a specific communication style caused a misunderstanding.
-
The Goal: Learnings ensure that mistakes aren't repeated and that every challenge contributes to your long-term expertise.
